Airbus and European innovation are imagining the cockpit of the future combat aircraft.
The EPIIC programme – a joint European effort including Airbus Defence and Space – is working on exciting new ideas to boost Europe’s defence strength and tech independence.

So what could the cockpit of a future fighter jet look like?
Picture a cutting-edge space where pilots use smart displays and advanced human-machine interfaces. A digital assistant gives real-time updates, and a special helmet shows key mission info right in the pilot’s line of sight.

With gesture control, the pilot can respond to ground control or command unmanned systems with a simple hand movement. Even the control stick helps out, gently vibrating to reflect the aircraft’s speed and condition. All these features create a smooth, intuitive experience—almost like something out of Iron Man.
