The Ventete AH-1 inflatable bike helmet folds down to an ultra-thin size.
London design studio Ventete has created an air-filled cycling helmet that uses pressurised air instead of foam to cushion impacts. When deflated, it becomes flat enough to slip easily into a bag.

Shortlisted for the 2025 Dezeen Awards, the AH-1 was developed in response to the rise of everyday cycling across UK cities.
Made with precise Swiss engineering, the helmet slows down impact forces using compressed air rather than traditional foam. HEAD Lab has tested it at Imperial College London.

Ventete also collaborated with RHEON Labs to incorporate flexible padding that moves with the rider. The special non-Newtonian material firms up on impact and spreads the force in all directions to protect the head from hits at any angle.
The helmet becomes less than 4 cm thick when deflated — roughly the size of a laptop — offering portable protection you can take anywhere.
