The Volocopter VoloXPro is a lightweight, two-seat multicopter built for short-distance travel.

It runs on a fully electric system and uses 18 rotors, reaching speeds of up to 47 mph and a range of about 25 miles.

The aircraft may be certified as an ultralight by EASA later this year, helping speed up Volocopter’s plans to bring its VoloCity air taxi to market.

Designed for both business and private use, it can be used for air taxis, emergency missions, and pilot training. The VoloXPro follows high aviation safety standards and is expected to make its first flight in summer 2026.

Why it matters:

The VoloXPro could speed up the introduction of electric air travel by fitting into simpler ultralight rules, making approval faster and easier.

It offers a quieter, zero-emission option for short trips, which could help reduce traffic and pollution in cities.
