Yamaha Y/AI superbike concept unveiled, designed for Netflix Sci-Fi anime series, in Tokyo 100 years from now.

Yamaha Motor Co., Ltd. has teamed up with Netflix to produce Tokyo Override, an original anime that debuted globally on Netflix on November 21, 2024.

Set 100 years in the future, the anime portrays a futuristic Tokyo where AI and automation dominate daily life. Packed with motorcycle action, the story features uniquely designed bikes speeding through the city’s streets.

Netflix approached Yamaha Motor to include their motorcycles in the anime. Yamaha supported the project by providing 3D data, images, and sound recordings of the YZF-R1 superbike and VMAX muscle cruiser.

Beyond this, Yamaha contributed to shaping the anime’s futuristic setting, offering ideas for advanced mobility, designing the concept race machine “Y/AI,” and supervising sound effects. Through this collaboration, Yamaha hopes to inspire a wider interest in motorcycles.
