New Space Station

Axiom Space has updated its plans to speed up the launch of its independent new space station.

Instead of gradually expanding from the ISS until 2030, Axiom will now send up its first module, the Payload, Power, and Thermal Module (PPTM), in early 2027.

About nine months later, this module will detach from the ISS and connect with Axiom’s Habitat One (Hab-1), forming a standalone station by early 2028.

This change ensures a smooth transition from the ISS and maintains human presence in low-Earth orbit. Axiom Station will support research, manufacturing, and astronaut missions, with a flexible design that can expand to meet future space industry needs.
