Archer New York air taxi network is coming, connecting Manhattan with nearby airports.

Archer announced plans to launch an air taxi network in New York City, in partnership with United Airlines, to change how people get around the city and nearby areas.

The service would use Archer’s all-electric Midnight air taxi to fly passengers between Manhattan and nearby airports in 5 to 15 minutes. This could save travelers a lot of time compared to the usual one-to-two-hour drive through traffic.

The planned network would include takeoff and landing spots, called vertiports, at existing airports and helipads in New York City.

Midnight is designed to carry four passengers and a pilot. It’s quieter than regular helicopters and built with safety in mind.

Archer’s CEO said:

“In 10 to 20 years, there will be highways in the sky.”
