Audi just unveiled the re-designed 2016 R18 e-tron quattro hybrid Le Mans prototype.
The Audi’s New 2016 R18 Diesel-Hybrid race-car Le Mans Prototype, will also compete the FIA world endurance championship.

The racer represents the next stage in lightweight, features innovative aerodynamics and has modified hybrid system, plus an efficiency-optimized TDI engine.
Audi hasn’t released any specs on the V6 4.0-liter turbo diesel engine, but in the previous model it was rated at 558hp, backed up by a 272hp electric motor.
Head of AUDI motorsport Dr. Wolfgang Ullrich, explains:
“With our new AUDI R18, we’re setting a clear signal. AUDI continues to put the pedal to the metal in motorsport, deliberately relying on TDI – the world’s most successful automotive efficiency technology – at Le Mans.”
