Coronavirus has Hit Antarctica

Antarctica is officially the last continent to be infected by covid-19.

At the “Bernardo O’Higgins” Antarctic base there are now 36 positive corona virus cases. 26 correspond to personnel from the institution and 10 are civilians from a contractor company.

The Chilean Army reported that a covid-19 outbreak was found at the “Bernardo O’Higgins” Antarctic base.

The Army announced that the base personnel “are already properly isolated and constantly monitored by health authorities.”

“The Army confirms the unconditional commitment to protect the health of its members, allowing in this context to satisfactorily report that as a result of the opportunity with which it was possible to develop the relief of personnel, it is already properly isolated.”
