First 3D-Printed Steel Bridge

The first 3D-printed steel bridge is made of a completely new type of steel and look amazing.

The 40 feet 3D-printed steel bridge, will be installed early next year in De Wallen, in Amsterdam.

MX3D workshop co-founder Gijs van der Velden told Gizmodo in an interview:

“Last Thursday we tested out the bridge with 30 people, and it was fine. It behaves like a bridge like it should. With the bridge deck on top, it will be even stronger.

When we launched the idea, we just printed one art piece. So [the bridge] was also a real moonshot project for us, because we didn’t know what this technology would make possible for us.”
