Genesis has unveiled its bold entry into endurance racing with the launch of Genesis Magma Racing.
Supported by Hyundai Motorsport, the new team will compete in the World Endurance Championship (WEC) starting in 2026 and the IMSA SportsCar Championship in 2027. The program includes a 2025 European Le Mans Series with an LMP2 team.

The announcement showcased the Genesis GMR-001 Hypercar, a high-performance prototype that reflects the brand’s “Athletic Elegance” design philosophy. Genesis aims to combine luxury and cutting-edge technology in the challenging LMDh class, which features hybrid-powered vehicles competing in iconic events like the 24 Hours of Le Mans and Daytona 24.

Genesis Magma Racing will field two cars in WEC and IMSA with support from motorsport experts ORECA and IDEC Sport. Team drivers include endurance racing veterans André Lotterer and Luis “Pipo” Derani.
