The giant seaplane with blended wing body design, makes the plane more efficient and can also solve the noise problem created over airports.
Scientists from Imperial College Department of Aeronautics created a design concept for a medium to long-range seaplane with ‘blended wing body’ configuration and the jet engines on top to reduce drag.
The team at Imperial College, explains:
‘The world is experiencing growth in global air traffic and in order to cater for the growing market, the aviation industry is seeking to expand major airports, allowing for the development of bigger, faster, and more efficient aircraft.’
