Komorebi 282ft hybrid trimaran superyacht powered by traditional fuel and by vertical ‘wings.’
Komorebi superyacht by French firm VPLP Design, features two vertical ‘wings’ that according to the designer, can drive the yacht at a speed of 17mph, a swimming pool, storage for a submarine.
Komorebi is an efficient and highly stable vessel capable of crossing oceans but agile and shallow- drafted enough to enter small places. “She is not a sailing vessel, nor a purely power yacht, but a little bit of both.”
Her fully automated wings are powerful enough to drive her at 15 knots with 20 knots of wind with no engine on and save at least 30% of fuel on hybrid mode in a crossing.
A design name that invites to relax, unwind, rejuvenate and live harmoniously again. Reflected in the elegantly muted styling and ultra-open layout affording great vistas and private places throughout the vessel. This Hybrid trimaran is the perfect answer to comfort at sea, space, stability, low running costs as well as a big step towards a clean wake.
Points of note are:
• Openness inside the vessel as well as out. Light flows from everywhere. Openness is an attitude we wanted to capture and is reflected in the design.
• Luxury of space. Each particular area is designed to suite a special moment of the day. Offering privacy and conviviality for everyone on board.
• Different propulsion modes privileging range and autonomy rather than speed. We think that quality of time and comfort are more important than high maximum speed.
• A full collection of tools to wonder above and below the sea: large tenders, submarine, sailing boats… Trimarans give you so many more options.
