Li-Fi is 100 times faster than Wi-Fi

The new Li-Fi technology uses the light frequencies generated by LED bulbs, allows speeds that are 100 times faster than Wi-Fi.

French company Oledcomm says the new Wi-Fi technology, that uses LED bulbs which flicker on and off thousands of times a second, is 100 times faster than conventional Wi-Fi which uses radio waves to transmit data.

According to the company Li-Fi can transmit information at almost unbelievable speeds, over 200 gigabytes per second or about 23 DVDs’ worth of information!

The only handicap is that the light of the LED has to be visible for the signal to work, and of coarse can’t pass the walls.
