An eye-catching, composite, time-lapse photo of lightning display, resulted from a storm passing north of Corfu, Greece.
Captured by Stathis Koutsiaftis, on the night of August 7, 2016. This view was taken from a beach overlooking the Ionian Sea. Most all of the flashes I observed during this storm were cloud-to-ground. Though these bolts appear to be single flashes, in actuality each stroke is made up of multiple discharges lasting approximately 1/1000 of a second.
