The Manta Ray is a big underwater glider designed to carry out long missions without needing humans.
This new type of UUV (Unmanned Underwater Vehicle) can travel far distances for a long time and carry payloads.
DARPA, a government research agency, created it to improve future UUVs by focusing on energy efficiency.
