This new development, called Moon, would be encircled by 20 tower structures and doesn’t yet have a confirmed location.
Moon World Resorts says that its sphere-shaped Lunar attraction could open as early as 2032. While Saudi Arabia seems like an obvious choice, the official announcement also names Australia, Brazil, China, Egypt, India, Poland, Spain, Thailand, the United States, and the United Arab Emirates as possible sites.
If built, the project’s main feature would be a claimed-to-be the largest and tallest true spherical building in the world. Measuring 271 m (889 ft) across and 312 m (1,023 ft) high, it would be far bigger than the Sphere in Las Vegas, which is 157 m (515 ft) in diameter and 112 m (367 ft) tall.
Inside, Moon would include a massive resort centered around a 4,000-room hotel. The ground floor would feature a convention center, event venues, restaurants, wellness areas, and a smaller boutique hotel. On top of it all, the biggest attraction would be a simulated lunar surface, designed to give visitors the feeling of walking on the Moon. Exactly how this realistic experience would be created has not yet been revealed.
