Paddleboarder makes world-first Atlantic Crossing

Chris Bertish became the first man to successfully to cross the Atlantic Ocean on a stand-up paddleboard.

South African Chris Bertish has become the first person to cross the Atlantic Ocean on standup paddle.

He made the epic 4,050-mile voyage alone at sea aboard his custom-built craft.

He arrived in Antigua, in the Leeward islands of the Caribbean, at 12.32pm GMT Thursday, after departing from Agadir, Morocco, 93 days ago.
