Engineering students transform innovative research, into electric vehicles with extremely low energy requirements and are therefore absolutely Eco-friendly.
“Prometheus” is a non-profit Greek research team of engineers envisioning a green planet, of the National Technical University of Athens – Electrical and Computer Engineering Department.
Prometheus members design and construct high efficiency electric vehicles. All students are undergraduates and PhD candidates of the specific department.
With the Eco-friendly prototype electric vehicle constructed from scratch, your 1.000 km trip will now cost less than 20 cents of a euro. Every year it competes in the Shell Eco-marathon race, a competition for high efficiency vehicles.
Prometheus was the Greek mythical titan who gave mankind fire after stealing it from the gods. Fire changed mankind dramatically. Our vehicle is named “Pyrforos” which means “he who brings fire”. Our team is named after the titan “Prometheus” being the symbol of our University.
