The successful completion of the “project: two” phase clears the way for the final development of the smart #2, a new all-electric city car.
Within the next three years, smart will introduce three new all-electric models to meet a wide range of customer needs, showing that smart can take many different forms.
The smart #2 will focus on the needs of city drivers, with Europe as the main market. Its global premiere is planned for late 2026.

The premium intelligent electric brand will launch a new two-seater. The smart #2 will expand the company’s portfolio with an ultra-compact A-segment vehicle, combining smart technology with the core qualities of the original smart fortwo.
Styled by the Mercedes-Benz Design team, the new model will bring fresh technology to the segment first created by the smart fortwo 27 years ago.
Production will take place in China, and the car is now in the final design and development stage.
