Archaeologists have solved the longstanding mystery of the origin of Stonehenge‘s giant sandstone megaliths.
The Stonehenge 5,000-year-old monument in the UK, created by two types of stones. The smaller bluestones from a site in Wales and the massive sandstone boulders, called sarsens, that their origin remained a mystery.
Archeologists now in a new study showed that most of the 25-ton sarsens megaliths, came from a woodland area 25 kilometers (15 miles) away.
According to an expert, all the 80 sarsens were transported at the same time.
