Next Generation Aerial Refueling System. Skunk Works
Lockheed Martin‘s Skunk Works has unveiled the stealthy-optionally piloted Next Generation Aerial Refueling System (NGAS) concept.
The Skunk Works design aligns with the U.S. Air Force’s ongoing development of the Next Generation Air-Refueling System (NGAS) as part of a broader “system of systems” strategy, despite budgetary challenges tied to modernization efforts.
The tanker incorporates stealth features, including a chine line that encircles the forward fuselage and extends aft along the sides past the wing roots, and saw-tooth panel lines for reduced radar visibility.
