Thanks to Tesla, Volvo will stop making Diesel engines and focusing on electric vehicles.
According to the Chief Executive of Volvo, the company will stop making Diesel engines and expects to launch its first electric cars by 2019.
The Volvo EVs are expected to cost something around $35,000 and the cars will have a range of about 400 kilometers per charge.
Chief Executive Hakan Samuelsson said to Reuters:
“We have just launched a brand new generation of petrol and diesel engines, highlighting our commitment to this technology. As a result, a decision on the development of a new generation of diesel engines is not required.”
