Have you ever thought: What if you dug a really deep hole?
The USSR dug a hole deeper than the ocean’s deepest point, even deeper than Mount Everest is tall! Starting in the 1970s, they aimed to explore Earth‘s crust as part of a “race” to the depths.
The U.S. quit their attempt after just 600 feet, but the Soviets kept digging for 20 years. They made it about a third of the way through the crust before calling it quits.
But imagine… what if you didn’t stop? What if you just kept digging?
If you tunneled to the center of the Earth, what would you discover? What would happen to you? And what does our cutting-edge tech reveal about what’s really beneath your feet?
