NASA unveils its plan for Artemis Base Camp on the Moon, home to four astronauts in 2024, to get them also prepared for first trip to Mars.
NASA’s Artemis program will land the first woman and next man on the Moon by 2024, using innovative technologies to explore more of the lunar surface than ever before.
The astronauts will live and travel on the lunar surface and will also have another vehicle to be used for trips up to 45 days.
We will collaborate with our commercial and international partners and establish sustainable exploration by 2028. Then, we will use what we learn on and around the Moon to take the next giant leap – sending astronauts to Mars.
Woman on the Moon:
A portrait of the Greek Goddess Artemis is illustrated in the highlights and shadows of the crescent Moon topography. Her features are abstract enough that all women can see themselves in her.
