A stunning Earth image from the International Space Station, looks from northwestern China on the bottom, into Lake Balkhash in eastern Kazakhstan.
The large lake in Kazakhstan with golden sun glint is the crescent-shaped Lake Balkhash, the second largest lake in Central Asia.
The image was taken by the Expedition 47 crew on May 31, 2016.
Lake Balkhash sits in the Balkhash-Alakol depression in southeastern Kazakhstan and stretches over 7,115 square miles (18,428 sq. km).
