Lily’s smart camera drone received $34 million in pre-orders for 60,000 flying robots.
This is a giant number of pre-orders for a smart drone and according to the San Francisco startup Lily Robotics, none of these customers had owned drones before.
Lily Camera drone is the world’s first throw-and-shoot camera, creating cinematic footage previously reserved for professional filmmakers. The quadcopter can follow a user at speeds of up to 25 miles-per-hour at a height of 10 to 30 feet.
It uses a simple tracking device to follow you and capture the action. Reacquires no controller, just put the tracker in your pocket, throw the camera up in the air to start a new.
