Russian astronaut sets world record for most time in space with more than 878 days aboard the ISS.
Russian cosmonaut Oleg Kononenko has set a remarkable new record for time spent in space, surpassing all others in human history.
Roscosmos, the Russian space agency, confirmed that Kononenko has logged more than 878 days aboard the International Space Station as of February 4, 2024.
This achievement makes him the new leader in space travel duration, overtaking the previous record by cosmonaut Gennady Padalka.

Kononenko’s impressive feat highlights his fifth mission aboard the station since 2008. Scheduled to stay until September 2024, he is projected to reach an astonishing 1,110 days in space, marking the first time a human has surpassed the 1,000-day milestone.
His extended stay demonstrates his dedication to space exploration and positions him as a pioneer in human spaceflight endurance.
