XB-1 supersonic demonstrator prototype

This is ‘Baby Boom,’ the XB-1 supersonic demonstrator prototype, a subscale of the Boom passenger aircraft.

The Boom supersonic aircraft, is backed by Richard Branson with an option to buy 10 new  jets.

The plane can fly from London to New York in 3.5 hours, with 45 passengers on board.

The XB-1 (above images) is a technically representative ⅓-scale version of the Boom supersonic passenger aircraft.

The Supersonic Demonstrator XB-1, is due to make its first test flight in late 2017.

Richard Branson, founder of Virgin Group, said:
