New hunt for alien life, by Yuri Milner’s Breakthrough Initiatives project, will use two powerful radio telescopes to listen for alien transmissions, in one million of the closest stars to Earth.

A third one will search for laser signals from extraterrestrial intelligence.

The new instruments will be 50 times more sensitive than previous attempts and cover 10 times more space.
