Microsoft Co-Founder Paul Allen, just unveiled Stratolaunch, world’s largest airplane.
Stratolaunch is a massive plane with a wingspan of 285 feet, powered from six 747 jet engines and can carry 250,000 pounds of fuel.
The plane will radically decrease the energy required and the cost, to place spacecraft to low earth orbit.
Stratolaunch’s chief executive, Jean Floyd said:
“Ground and flight tests will be conducted over the coming weeks and months, and its first launch is set for 2019. The company is actively exploring a broad spectrum of launch vehicles that will enable us to provide more flexibility to customers.”
