Maglev train in China

Underground hover train could go from Liverpool to Manchester in just 7 minutes traveling at 350 mph.

Direct City Networks (DCN) is developing a plan for a ‘hover train’ line, ‘the world’s fastest underground system,’ that could run from Liverpool to Hull.

DCN300+ would be a Maglev, a magnetic levitation system hovering above tracks and propelled by electrically charged magnets. The Maglev train reduces friction by hovering and can reach up to 350mph, more than any conventional train in Europe.

The cost of that concept from Manchester to Leeds line, could be from £2.2bn to £3.7bn.
