SoftBank to build the world’s largest solar farm in Saudi Arabia desert, at the cost of $200 billion.
SoftBank Group Corp‘s massive solar array will be 100 times larger than the current largest project, and could cost as much as $200 billion.
The solar farm will be able to generate 200 gigawatts of energy and the development will reach maximum capacity by 2030. This is more power than the United States and China combined output in 2016.
SoftBank founder Mayatoshi Son, said:
“The kingdom has great sunshine, great size of available land and great engineers, great labor, but most importantly, the best and greatest vision.”
